"I have already heard and read so much about this place and also saw pictures of it. Now that I got the opportunity to come here, making a visit was beyond question. Rachmaninoff was the music I heard with my mother's milk. Since childhood, when I was still playing the piano, I liked to play Rachmaninoff above all other piano music. I am so fond of conducting his few, but magnificent orchestral works. Rachmaninoff is the composer who makes my blood boil sooner than any Russian other composer. Maybe even more than Tchaikovsky."
