VIDEO: Stokowski Rehearsal - Paganini Rhapsody by Sergei Rachmaninoff - Jerome Lowenthal, piano

In February 1968, Leopold Stokowski (at 85!) and his American Symphony Orchestra gave the opening concert in the new Madison Square Garden building. The programme included Sergei Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini, op. 43 with Jerome Lowenthal at the piano. This is a rehearsal from the day before the concert.

Stokowski conducted the premiere of the Rhapsody in 1934 with Sergei Rachmaninoff in Baltimore.
