Sergei Rachmaninoff in pianoconcerto no. 3 remastered 2020

Legendary recording of Sergei Rachmaninoff in Piano Concerto No 3 in D minor, Op. 30 with Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Recorded on December 4, 1939 and February 24, 1940 at the Academy of Music, Philadelphia. Remastered in 2020.

No historic reason has ever surfaced as to why the composer chose to make the cuts that he did for this recording. The original 78 album had only nine sides; there was plenty of room for the entire score.
